Team Manager – Fostering Support & Supervision

About the role

Randstad Care is recruiting a high‑calibre Team Manager to lead the Fostering Support and Supervision team for Tameside Council. The role combines operational leadership with strategic development to ensure high‑quality care for looked‑after children.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and manage a team of Supervising Social Workers, allocating work and championing evidence‑based practice.
• Implement audit and performance monitoring systems to ensure compliance with national fostering regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues, external partners and agencies to shape service improvement and strategic goals.
• Oversee recruitment, supervision and professional development of staff, fostering a culture of accountability and coaching.
• Manage financial, physical and human resources efficiently, delivering value for money.
• Prioritise safeguarding, ensuring the welfare and voices of looked‑after children are central to all decisions.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with a current Social Work England registration.
• Proven experience as a Team Manager or Assistant Team Manager within a statutory fostering or permanence service.
• Deep knowledge of Fostering Services Regulations, National Minimum Standards and Care Planning regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets and drive service improvement.
