About the role
The Clinical Division B of the Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Service is seeking a Team Secretary to provide day‑to‑day administrative support for the Older Adult Psychology & Neuropsychology department. The role involves managing communications, diaries and patient interactions within a busy hospital environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine secretarial duties including reception, telephone handling and correspondence.
- Maintain and organise diaries, appointments and meeting schedules for the clinical team.
- Set up and manage filing systems, both electronic and paper‑based.
- Prepare documents, letters and reports using Microsoft Office applications.
- Handle confidential patient information with discretion and a sensitive approach.
Required profile
- Previous sustained secretarial or administrative experience, preferably in a health‑care setting.
- Medical or team secretarial experience is desirable.
- Qualification at Higher level or equivalent, with at least five Standard Grades including English.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Dragon Dictation software.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or equivalent certification.
