Technical & Applications Analyst – Windows & Azure

About the role

We are recruiting a Technical Infrastructure Analyst to join the IT function of a leading national commercial services organisation that is part of a major European group. The role combines hands‑on technical support for Windows, Microsoft Azure and Remote Desktop environments with infrastructure improvement and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain Windows Server and Microsoft Azure environments.
• Configure, support and troubleshoot Remote Desktop Services.
• Administer Azure services, including Entra ID and Identity & Access Management.
• Support Azure networking, automation and storage.
• Investigate and resolve complex incidents, service requests and system alerts.
• Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools.
• Monitor systems to ensure services meet agreed SLAs.
• Identify recurring problems and document technical fixes and work instructions.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Contribute to infrastructure upgrades and implementation of new platforms.

Required profile

• Practical and curious technical professional who takes ownership of problems through to resolution.
• Ability to balance reactive support with planned project work.
• Clear communication with both technical specialists and business users.
• Strong foundations in Windows and Azure technologies and confidence troubleshooting complex issues.

Required skills

• Windows Server architecture and administration.
• Microsoft Azure administration (including Entra ID, IAM).
• Remote Desktop Services configuration and support.
• Azure networking, automation and storage.
• PowerShell, VBScript or comparable scripting technologies.
• Network protocols and troubleshooting.
• Disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Incident, problem and change management within an ITIL environment.
