Technical Project Manager – Data Centres

About the role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead complex data centre projects. You will act as the primary client interface, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex projects and programmes, developing client relationships and driving successful completion.
• Oversee the design process, ensuring client requirements are met and expectations managed.
• Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and cost‑saving measures, addressing discrepancies and construction challenges.
• Ensure project safety, environmental compliance, and manage timelines, risks, and reporting.
• Control project budgets, providing options to keep costs on track.
• Coordinate vendor scope with overall project delivery and draft contract documents using approved templates.

Required profile

• Degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• 5–10 years of project management experience in data centre or similar technical environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of the full project life‑cycle from inception through post‑project review.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of data centre infrastructure: HVAC, Electrical, Generators, Fire protection, Security and BMS.
• Proficiency in project management concepts, tools and techniques.
