Technical Sales Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to lead our internal sales function for a leading manufacturer of bespoke products located on the outskirts of Maidstone. You will be responsible for guiding the sales process from initial enquiry through production scheduling and order fulfilment, ensuring a seamless customer journey.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal departments and production teams.
• Monitor departmental KPIs, analyse performance and report to senior management.
• Identify and implement improvements to sales processes, operational efficiency and customer service.
• Lead, motivate and develop the internal sales team, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Prepare commercially competitive and accurate quotations within agreed timescales.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from enquiry to order processing and fulfilment.
• Maintain accurate records using ERP and CRM systems.
• Provide technical and commercial guidance to the team as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and ISO quality standards.
• Coach, mentor and conduct regular training and performance reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading and developing a technical sales or commercial support team.
• Background in sales operations, estimating, commercial administration or similar.
• Strong technical knowledge within manufacturing, engineering or construction.
• Experience using ERP and CRM systems for customer and sales data management.
• Commercial awareness with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proactive, positive, hands‑on management style with a passion for people development.
