Technical Sales Support Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Technical Sales Support Specialist to join our B2B sales team, supporting customers across the UK, Asia Pacific and the USA. Based in Swindon on a hybrid schedule, you will act as the technical bridge between sales and product teams, ensuring clients receive expert guidance on automotive data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team, handling client enquiries and product demonstrations.
• Explain the benefits and applications of automotive technical data solutions to prospects and existing customers.
• Assist in pre‑sales activities such as needs assessments, solution recommendations and technical presentations.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to relay customer feedback and influence product improvements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and deliver first‑line support during onboarding and implementation.
• Work with marketing to create and maintain technical sales documentation, FAQs and training materials.
• Contribute technical input to proposals, quotations and tender responses.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends, vehicle data technologies and competitor offerings.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through ongoing support.

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems, vehicle diagnostics or related automotive technologies.
• Experience in engineering, technical sales support, pre‑sales, sales, marketing or other customer‑facing technical roles.
• Based in the UK with the ability to travel across Europe, the USA and APAC territories.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and strong customer‑service focus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capability to work independently.
