Technical Support Engineer (Power Generation Industry)

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer will provide hands‑on, field‑based support for the Flex asset fleet within the power generation sector. Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, you will be the on‑site resource for fault response, asset recovery and winter‑readiness activities across the North West and South West regions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site technical support for the Flex asset fleet, acting as the primary resource during faults, breakdowns and recovery operations.
• Support winter operations, TRIAD periods and System Peak Days by returning assets to service quickly and safely.
• Carry out fault‑finding, defect rectification and technical investigations on plant and auxiliary systems.
• Assist with commissioning, testing and post‑maintenance return‑to‑service activities.
• Maintain accurate technical records, defect reports and work completion documentation.
• Coordinate with supervisors, field service engineers, OEMs and contractors to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure all work complies with HSSE requirements, RAMS and safe systems of work.

Required profile

• Willingness and ability to work away from home on short notice.
• Experience in field‑based technical support within an industrial or power generation environment.
• Strong understanding of plant reliability, efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure during peak operational periods.
