Technology Operations Manager

About the role

Join us as a Technology Operations Manager and play a key role in overseeing the technology workstream on our TfL Tunnels & Pump Stations contract. You’ll coordinate technical delivery, manage subcontractor performance, and ensure reliable operation of technology systems across tunnel and pump‑station sites.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact with the technology subcontractor Cubic, coordinating delivery and ensuring contractual commitments are met.
• Monitor performance against KPIs, address issues promptly, and implement improvement plans to enhance system reliability.
• Review technical documentation, maintenance programmes, and method statements to ensure alignment with contract specifications.
• Provide engineering oversight for communications, control, monitoring systems and networked infrastructure within tunnels and pump stations.
• Support onsite activities including fault investigation, system diagnostics, commissioning support, and coordination during critical incidents.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent in a technology‑focused engineering discipline, or relevant highways and traffic technology experience.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors, ideally within technology or systems integration.
• Understanding of mainstream highways technologies, communications networks, and control systems.
• Self‑motivated with excellent communication skills, able to build positive relationships and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Valid UK full driving licence for site visits.
