Telecom Digital Payload Architect Placement – 13 months

About the role

You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering payload architecture for innovative telecom satellites. The role supports projects such as OneSAT, working across RF, EMC, electrical and mechanical disciplines to design flexible, reconfigurable satellite solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with payload architects across mechanical, electrical, EMC and RF disciplines.
• Review supplier equipment test results for flight models and verify compliance with test procedures.
• Generate equipment calibration curves to ensure accurate telemetry recording and support satellite monitoring.
• Maintain the team Confluence page, capture knowledge and best practices, and assist with mass‑budget updates or additional analyses as needed.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying Telecommunications Systems, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or Physics.
• Must remain an undergraduate for the full 13‑month placement and provide graduation date.
• Strong motivation to work in the space industry and ability to submit a CV and cover letter.

Required skills

• Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Matlab, Python).
• Proficiency with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
• Understanding of communication and test equipment concepts.
