Temporary Accommodation Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Temporary Accommodation Officer to join our busy housing team on a three‑month contract. The role blends administration, customer service and on‑site support to help vulnerable households secure safe temporary homes.

Key responsibilities

• Process new temporary accommodation applications and conduct sign‑ups.
• Carry out property inspections and safety checks, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Liaise with accommodation providers, landlords and other stakeholders.
• Provide tenancy support, including arranging essential items for residents in emergency situations.
• Maintain accurate records in housing, maintenance and finance systems.

Required profile

• Strong administrative background with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to remain calm and empathetic.
• Proactive, organised and able to manage a varied workload independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is highly desirable.
