Temporary Accountant – Watford

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established accountancy practice in Watford to find an experienced Temporary Accountant. This short‑term assignment will support the team during a busy period, delivering high‑quality financial services to a varied client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end statutory accounts for multiple clients.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax compliance.
• Support the preparation of personal and corporation tax returns.
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide financial advice.
• Assist with bookkeeping and review financial records.
• Provide ad‑hoc accounting support to the wider team as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification (or part‑qualified/qualified by experience).
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and accounts preparation.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to a new environment.
