Temporary Accounts Payable Assistant (12‑week contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Temporary Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team in Wantage for a minimum 12‑week assignment. The role supports a systems implementation project and offers a hybrid working pattern with three days on‑site each week.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices across multiple currencies and entities, ensuring proper approval and PO matching.
• Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations and weekly supplier payment runs.
• Respond to supplier and internal queries, resolving complex issues.
• Execute daily bank reconciliations and post supplier payment journals.
• Post general ledger entries, including purchase ledger postings, foreign‑exchange adjustments and corrections.
• Complete purchase ledger balance‑sheet reconciliation and maintain short‑term cash‑flow forecasts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role.
• Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and cash transactions.
• Ability to work with multiple currencies and entities.
• Available to start immediately or at short notice.
