Temporary Chemistry Lecturer – Flexible Assignments

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Chemistry Lecturers for temporary assignments with well‑established Further Education providers in Liverpool. The role offers flexibility while allowing you to make a tangible impact on learners across a range of programmes and levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Chemistry lessons.
• Teach learners of varying abilities and levels.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress.
• Provide constructive feedback and academic support.
• Maintain accurate records in line with college requirements.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Support practical laboratory sessions following health and safety regulations.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Chemistry in Further Education, Secondary Education or Adult Learning.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
• Passion for science education.
