Temporary Finance Manager – Overheads

About the role

SF Partners is seeking a temporary Finance Manager to lead overhead cost management for a fast‑growing, private‑equity backed business in Coventry. The role is part of the FP&A team and reports to the Finance Director, lasting 3‑6 months.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for overhead costs, ensuring timely group consolidation.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and allocate resources efficiently across local and group initiatives.
• Account for overheads, maintaining accurate P&L, balance‑sheet accruals, pre‑payments and headcount figures, and feed cash‑flow forecasts.
• Partner with department heads to provide financial insights that support strategic decisions.
• Prepare and present detailed financial reports and commentary to senior leadership and investors, including capital and exceptional items.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and best‑practice implementation.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in financial management with exposure to overheads or cost control.
• Strong analytical mindset and confident communication style.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP financial modules.
• Experience using Oracle finance systems.
• Familiarity with FP&A tools for budgeting and reporting.
