Theatre Scrub Nurse – General Surgery & Ophthalmology

About the role

Ramsay Health Care UK is seeking an experienced Theatre Scrub Nurse to support a varied caseload of General Surgery and Ophthalmology procedures at its Exeter Medical facility. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective delivery of surgical procedures while providing an excellent patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical instruments and equipment for General Surgery and Ophthalmology cases.
• Assist the surgical team throughout procedures, ensuring correct instrument handling.
• Maintain accurate documentation and counts of instruments, swabs, and specimens.
• Support patient positioning and safety before, during and after surgery.
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons and anaesthetists to coordinate theatre workflow.
• Adhere to infection control and health and safety policies.

Required profile

• NMC registration with no restrictions or conditions.
• Proven scrub experience in both General Surgery and Ophthalmology.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Flexible and positive attitude.
• Warm, considerate and empathetic character.
