Track Quality Manager

About the role

The Track Quality Manager will lead the implementation of consistent, effective quality management across TfL's ballasted track renewal portfolio. Working primarily with the Ballasted Track Team, you will ensure that site and office quality processes meet TfL and industry best practice while supporting broader APD renewal programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise TfL staff and contractors to achieve consistent site and quality standards.
• Design, implement and integrate digital quality management tools to move towards paper‑less, data‑driven quality control.
• Provide timely quality information, guidance and specialist advice across all relevant TfL projects.
• Identify gaps in existing quality systems, develop new processes and ensure alignment with civil‑engineering standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Collaborate with the Planning and Engineering Compliance Manager and senior leaders to build quality‑management capability within APD.
• Maintain oversight of quality documentation, audits and reporting within the Track Delivery Unit and wider project controls framework.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quality management within civil‑engineering or rail infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage external contractors.
• In‑depth knowledge of TfL and industry best practices for track construction and renewal.
• Experience developing and deploying digital quality tools and data‑centric processes.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £85,000 and £99,000 per annum.
