Trainee Estimator

About the role

Our client is seeking a motivated Trainee Estimator to join their growing team in Caterham. This entry‑level position offers full training and mentorship, allowing you to develop estimating expertise while contributing to a variety of construction projects across London and the South East.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing tender enquiries, drawings and specifications.
• Support the preparation of cost estimates, quotations and detailed breakdowns.
• Help produce Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules and tender documentation.
• Participate in site visits and surveys alongside experienced colleagues.
• Gather pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Provide administrative support to the estimating team.

Required profile

• Strong numeracy and analytical ability.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Interest in construction, demolition or the built environment.
• Proactive learner eager to build a long‑term career.
• Effective communicator who can work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
