Trainee Site Supervisor – 2‑Year Programme

About the role

SSEN Transmission is offering a two‑year Trainee Site Supervisor programme that combines on‑site work experience, formal training and an HNC in Construction Management. You will be based on projects in Lewis and Peterhead, supporting the delivery of high‑voltage transmission assets while developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Site Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Organise daily work on construction sites, ensuring tasks are completed safely, on time and within budget.
• Coordinate with contractors, surveyors and builders to keep projects on track.
• Monitor staffing, machinery and material requirements and arrange resources as needed.
• Support the Site Construction Manager in day‑to‑day site activities and reporting.
• Assist with health and safety compliance and quality assurance on transmission projects.

Required profile

• Highly organised, self‑driven and able to manage time effectively.
• Flexible approach to work, comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to live away from home for placement periods.
• Full UK driver’s licence (or in the process of obtaining one) for travel between sites.
