Trainee Wood Product Manufacturer – Entry Level

About the role

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our wood product manufacturing team on a trainee basis. You will learn the fundamentals of woodwork, machine operation, carpentry and production while supporting the delivery of high‑quality, modular items to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the fabrication, assembly and finishing of wood products using cutting and tooling machines.
• Follow detailed work instructions to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
• Handle physical tasks such as lifting and carrying items up to 25 kg.
• Support warehouse operations, including stock handling and material movement.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Required profile

• Reliable, able to take direction and work to repetitive tasks.
• Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling loads up to 25 kg.
• Own transport (car or motorbike) to reach the site in Greater Southampton.
• Good written and verbal English communication.
• Basic maths skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.

Required skills

• Basic machine operation.
• Carpentry and wood‑working techniques.
• Use of cutting and tooling equipment.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £12.75, reviewed after a 12‑week probation.
• Full‑time schedule: 07:30 am – 05:00 pm, Monday‑Friday.
• Potential for permanent employment after the temporary period.
