Transport Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Transport Administrator to support the efficient operation of our client’s transport department. The role involves coordinating deliveries, managing documentation and ensuring smooth communication between import operations, planning and customers in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform administrative and clerical duties to support daily transport operations.
• Act as liaison between Import Operations and the planning team, coordinating delivery requirements.
• Contact customers to arrange and confirm delivery bookings, balancing requirements with fleet capacity.
• Schedule delivery appointments with fleet planning and route optimisation to maximise vehicle utilisation.
• Process, prepare and verify transport and delivery documentation.
• Manage discrepancies, exceptions and overages, ensuring timely resolution.
• Monitor delivery performance, proactively managing delays to minimise disruption.
• Collaborate with customers, drivers, warehouse teams and operational departments to maintain continuous freight flow.
• Identify and resolve transport‑related issues, escalating when necessary to maintain service levels.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Previous experience in transport administration or logistics (preferred).
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Proficiency with transport management systems.
