Transport Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to lead a busy fleet operation in Wick. The role involves overseeing a large fleet of units and trailers, managing transport, network and night teams, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operation of a large fleet of units and trailers.
• Lead transport, network and night teams, including three planners and 35‑40 drivers.
• Ensure compliance with operator licence requirements, vehicle maintenance, MOTs and servicing schedules.
• Monitor fleet performance, compliance and KPIs using RHA or similar transport software.
• Oversee driver recruitment, training, performance management, disciplinaries and absence cover.
• Drive operational efficiency, service delivery and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• International CPC qualification (essential).
• Transport Manager CPC (preferred).
• Proven experience managing fleets of trailers and units.
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance and fleet management.
• Experience managing drivers, planners and operational teams.
• Confident communicator able to motivate and develop staff.
• Class 1 licence or previous professional driving experience (desirable).
