Transport Planner / Senior Transport Planner – Didcot

About the role

Brandon James Ltd is seeking an experienced Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner to join its multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. Based in Didcot with flexible working options, you will contribute to a varied portfolio of development projects across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre‑application advice.
• Produce Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Carry out traffic modelling and junction capacity assessments.
• Liaise with clients, project teams and local authorities.
• Attend project meetings and provide professional transport planning advice.
• Support project delivery while maintaining high technical standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience working within a transport planning consultancy.
• Proven experience preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Membership of, or working towards, a professional body such as CIHT or ICE (chartered status advantageous).

Required skills

• Use of industry‑standard junction modelling software.
• Traffic modelling techniques.
