Travel Counselor

About the role

CWT Defense & Government, part of the American Express Global Business Travel family, is recruiting a Travel Counselor in St Edmunds, Suffolk. The role advises and arranges travel for corporate business customers, both individuals and groups.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (individuals and groups)
• Analyse and research travel options and proactively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services
• Book domestic and international business travel by air, road, rail and accommodation, in a variety of complexities
• Use the Global Distribution System Sabre (training may be provided)
• Ensure compliance with customers' travel policies, service provider policies and regulatory requirements
• Handle special customer requests using positive telephone service techniques
• Coach, mentor and give constructive feedback to teammates to improve service levels

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the travel industry (background in business travel, leisure travel or airline reservations)
• Passion for excellent client service and proactive anticipation of needs
• Professional written and verbal communication and attention to detail
• Integrity and care for personal traveler information
• Ability to resolve customer issues quickly, independently or with suppliers
• Teamwork and openness to feedback
