Travel Counselor

About the role

CWT Defense & Government, part of the American Express Global Business Travel family, is hiring a Travel Counselor in Lakenheath, United Kingdom. The role covers moderately complex travel arrangements for clients, including car, hotel, air and rail bookings.

Key responsibilities

• Create and complete travel arrangements (car, hotel, air, rail) for moderately complex accounts
• Ensure reservations are built according to client standards and preferences
• Act as a trusted advisor, giving informed recommendations that give the best traveler experience
• Resolve moderately complex problems, including non-standard and multi-destination itineraries, ticket exchanges and complex fares
• Handle both routine and non-routine work, and may assist with department projects such as clean-up, startup and closeout

Required profile

• 2+ years of industry experience preferred, or a strong customer service background
• Experience in travel support roles preferred
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Diligent attention to accuracy, capable of working with minimal supervision
• Good knowledge of the travel industry

Required skills

• Basic MS Office
• GDS, with Sabre preferred
