Vice President – Derivatives Lawyer (EMEA Markets)

About the role

As a Vice President in the EMEA Markets Legal Practice Group, you will provide comprehensive legal coverage for the Currencies, Emerging Markets, and Rates businesses within JPMorgan's Corporate and Investment Bank. You will work on a wide range of structured finance and derivatives transactions, partnering closely with business teams across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end legal support for emerging market financings, including structured repo, repo‑to‑maturity, total return swaps, Shariah‑compliant derivatives, and crypto‑related transactions.
• Advise on rates‑related deals such as contingent transactions, physical and synthetic risk transfers, and hedging of RMBS, CLOs, WBS and other financing structures.
• Identify, raise, and resolve complex legal and regulatory issues throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Manage relationships with external counsel across jurisdictions and coordinate cross‑border legal work.
• Provide regulatory guidance on MiFID II, EMIR, BMR, the Global FX Code, FMSB Standards and IOSCO Principles.
• Drive process, documentation and efficiency improvements within the coverage area.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister licensed to practice in England & Wales (or a comparable jurisdiction).
• Post‑qualification experience (PQE) in derivatives law, preferably within a banking environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work on complex, multi‑jurisdictional transactions.

Required skills

• UK and European derivatives law knowledge.
• Familiarity with MiFID II, EMIR, BMR, Global FX Code, FMSB Standards, IOSCO Principles.
