Vice President of Platform – Lead AI‑Driven RNA Therapeutics

About the role

ScionxBio is seeking a Vice President of Platform to own and expand its core technology engine that combines synthetic chemistry and artificial intelligence to create long‑acting RNA medicines. Reporting to the CEO and joining the senior leadership team, you will shape the scientific direction of the platform and drive its translation into durable therapeutics.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of proprietary AI/ML models and computational pipelines for sequence design, structural prediction and codon optimisation.
• Guide the evolution of next‑generation xRNA chemistries and ensure the platform remains state‑of‑the‑art.
• Oversee formulation engineering to optimise lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery for safety and efficacy.
• Ensure discoveries are robust, reproducible and scalable for manufacturing.
• Own resourcing, planning and timelines for a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, biologists and engineers.
• Identify and protect intellectual property covering novel sequences, AI algorithms and LNP formulations.

Required profile

• PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, RNA biology, biochemistry, chemical or biomedical engineering or a related field.
• Extensive senior‑level experience in RNA or nucleic‑acid therapeutics within biotech or pharma.
• Proven track record building and leading platform or technology functions across computation, biology and engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to generate and protect intellectual property.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills in a geographically distributed, multicultural organisation.
