Volunteer Conversation Partner - Residential Care, Cardiff

About the role

HammondCare Cardiff is looking for a volunteer to share stories, interests and conversation with a resident who enjoys talking about classic motorcycles, travel and photography, and who may connect with someone who has served in the military. Visits are social and conversational, with the aim of sharing common interests and building a meaningful connection.

Key responsibilities

• Visit the resident on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays (afternoon) or Thursdays, for approximately one hour each time, weekly or fortnightly.
• Share conversation and common interests, such as classic motorcycles, travel, photography and military history.
• Follow the resident's lead; for example, browse classic bike magazines, books and photographs together, or work on a model motorcycle project over several visits.

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older.
• An NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
• Availability for visits between 9:30am and 12:00pm or 1:00pm and 4:00pm on the listed days.
