VP Accounting - Mandarin Speaking

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established international banking group to appoint a Vice President of Accounting who is fluent in Mandarin. Based in London, this senior leader will oversee the accounting function, statutory reporting and group financial reporting within a highly regulated banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS, regulatory requirements and Group accounting policies.
• Oversee month‑end, statutory reporting and the preparation of reports for Group Finance.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures and documentation.
• Strengthen the financial control framework, identify risks and implement remediation actions.
• Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes and controls.
• Manage the annual statutory audit, act as the primary contact for external auditors and coordinate internal audit reviews.
• Support ongoing regulatory compliance and reporting obligations.

Required profile

• Significant senior accounting leadership experience within a regulated banking or financial services organisation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of accountants and collaborate with Finance, Risk, Compliance and Audit stakeholders.
• Fluent Mandarin speaking and writing skills.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and UK regulatory reporting requirements.
