Warehouse & Assembly Operative (Temporary)

About the role
We are seeking a reliable Warehouse & Assembly Operative to join a small team in Widnes on a temporary basis. The role involves handling long aluminium and steel profiles, fabricated components, and finished products while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a Counterbalance forklift safely (valid licence required).
- Move stock, components and finished goods throughout the warehouse.
- Off‑load inbound deliveries, check goods and record movements.
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
- Load and unload shipping containers and flat‑bed vehicles.
- Assist with handling of long, bulky profiles and framework systems.
- Support light assembly, preparation and packaging tasks as needed.
- Use a tablet‑based inventory system to maintain accurate records.
Required profile
- Valid Counterbalance forklift licence (Combi Lift licence is a plus).
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics or manufacturing environments.
- Strong spoken and written English.
- Reliability, punctuality and a positive, self‑motivated attitude.

What we offer
- Hourly rate of £13.50‑£15.00 (£28,080‑£31,200 annualised).
- Full‑time hours: Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑17:00 (40 hrs/week).
- Initial 1‑month contract with possible extension to August 2027 based on performance.
