Warehouse Manager – Lead Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead the launch and ongoing operations of a brand‑new warehouse in Manchester. The role involves aligning warehouse activities with corporate strategy, driving efficiency, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement warehouse strategies, process standards, and annual operational plans.
• Design warehouse layouts, allocate equipment, and establish a comprehensive warehouse management system.
• Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, storage, inventory control, and order fulfilment.
• Monitor key performance metrics such as inventory turnover and accuracy, and optimise task routing and resource allocation.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate warehouse staff, and optimise the organisational structure.
• Implement safety protocols, manage incidents, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Collaborate with logistics, sales and other departments to resolve bottlenecks and improve supply‑chain performance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in warehouse operations.
• Proven track record of leading teams in complex environments.
• Clear communication skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
