Warehouse Senior Supervisor

About the role

The Warehouse Senior Supervisor will lead daily warehouse operations for a fast‑growing distribution business in Bedford. Reporting to the Warehouse & Operations Manager, you will ensure orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day warehouse activities, ensuring safe and efficient work.
• Lead, motivate and coach the warehouse team to meet operational targets.
• Conduct daily briefings covering priorities, workload and health & safety updates.
• Plan and allocate resources to match changing customer demand and delivery schedules.
• Monitor picking, packing and dispatch processes for accuracy and service level compliance.
• Oversee stock movements, inventory control and housekeeping standards.
• Coordinate collections and outbound deliveries with transport providers.
• Investigate operational issues and implement productivity improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards and health & safety legislation.
• Complete end‑of‑day checks to secure the warehouse for the next shift.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a supervisory or team‑lead role within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of health & safety and inventory control practices.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and staff development.
