Warehouse Supervisor

About the role

Planet Recruitment is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor for a fast‑growing distribution business in Banbury. You will lead a team of around 15 operatives across rotating shifts, ensuring smooth inbound and outbound operations while meeting productivity and safety targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and motivate a team of ~15 warehouse operatives on a rotational shift pattern.
• Manage daily warehouse activities, meeting operational targets and KPIs.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor productivity, implement improvements and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Conduct briefings, shift handovers and performance reviews.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development of staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain accurate warehouse records and reporting.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operational flow.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or similar role in a busy warehouse or distribution environment.
• Strong people‑management and communication abilities.
• Proven ability to motivate, coach and develop team members.
• Good understanding of warehouse processes, stock control and operational KPIs.
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude with a focus on safety and performance.

Required skills

• Warehouse Management System (WMS) proficiency.
• Microsoft Office competency.
• Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
