Warehouse Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to join a fast‑paced manufacturing and warehousing operation in Bedford. You will lead a crew of forklift drivers, oversee logistics activities and ensure production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety and health & safety.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of forklift drivers and warehouse staff across a rotating three‑shift pattern.
• Operate counterbalance forklifts and clamp trucks safely, performing required health & safety checks.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing vehicles, manage the movement of empty containers and finished products.
• Transport materials between warehouse, canning and production areas and handle FLT gas bottle changes when required.
• Use SAP handheld devices to accurately record stock movements.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and hygiene in the work area.
• Report equipment faults, defects or incidents promptly and support basic autonomous maintenance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Food Safety, HACCP, Food Defence and Health & Safety procedures.
• Contribute to achieving site productivity and performance targets.

Required profile

• Valid, accredited Counterbalance Forklift Licence (in‑date preferred).
• Minimum 2 years forklift driving experience, including double counterbalance operation.
• Previous experience as a warehouse team leader or supervisor, preferably within food or drink manufacturing.
• Good physical fitness for manual handling and lifting tasks.
• Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Reliable attendance record and a positive, hardworking attitude.
