Water Hygiene Technician

About the role
The Water Hygiene Technician will deliver all aspects of the water hygiene programme for Sewell Group across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East. Working from a company vehicle, you will perform routine monitoring, maintenance and cleaning tasks on customer sites while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Planned and reactive maintenance of water systems.
- Respond to task requests and complete jobs within service level agreements.
- Routine water hygiene monitoring, including temperature checks and sampling.
- Inspect tank and pipework insulation.
- Clean and disinfect showers and other fixtures.
- Flush expansion vessels and maintain thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs).
- Carry out basic building inspections such as emergency lights, fire extinguishers and fire alarm testing.
- Follow health & safety risk assessments and method statements on every task.
- Liaise with customers to gain site access and minimise disruption.
- Maintain accurate paperwork and update task records.
- Stay up‑to‑date with current regulations and support other business areas as needed.
Required profile
- Positive, professional attitude and customer‑focused mindset.
- Full UK driving licence and satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
- Good understanding of hot and cold‑water systems.
- Computer literate with strong organisational skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional out‑of‑hours work.
- Commitment to health & safety best practice.
