Welsh Speaking Sports Coach / PE Cover Supervisor

About the role

Equal Education Partners is recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Welsh-speaking sports coaches to work across secondary schools in Carmarthenshire, including Llanelli and the wider Swansea area. The role combines sports coaching with classroom supervision, and suits coaches, sports graduates, aspiring PE teachers or people with experience working with secondary-aged pupils. It is available full-time, part-time or freelance, with pay of £115 to £120 per day and weekly payment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions to secondary school pupils
• Support Physical Education departments during lessons and sporting activities
• Supervise classes during teacher absences, keeping students focused and on task
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Encourage pupil participation, confidence, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles through sport
• Support extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures and events where required
• Build positive relationships with students, teachers and school staff

Required profile

• Fluent Welsh speaker
• Experience working with children or young people
• Confident working with secondary school pupils aged 11-16
• Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Eligibility to work in the UK

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Ability to lead groups of young people and adapt to different school settings
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
