Wind Tunnel Model Workshop Fitter and Integrator

About the role

Join the hidden gem of the Filton site where you will fit instrumentation and complete the final assembly of high‑precision wind‑tunnel models for Airbus experimental aerodynamic testing. You will work on one‑off, complex models that are tested worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate wind tunnel models for test campaigns at Filton and external facilities.
• Mechanical assembly and fitting of model components following engineering drawings and tolerance specifications.
• Hand finishing of metallic and non‑metallic components to achieve surface tolerances.
• Install static pressure measurement instrumentation, including hypodermic tubing, soldering ferrules and pressure validation checks.
• Support model configuration changes during wind‑tunnel test campaigns worldwide.

Required profile

• Background in precision mechanical engineering.
• Advanced hand and workshop skills for small, complex projects.
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and work methodically.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the UK and internationally.
