Wing Structures FEA & Digital Analysis Placement (12.5 months)

About the role

As a member of the Wing Architecture and Integration team you will work on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Digital Analysis for Airbus commercial wing designs. The 12.5‑month placement offers exposure to multiple aircraft programmes and the chance to develop analysis solutions for more sustainable aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver key FEA results for various Airbus aircraft programmes, managing tasks from definition to final delivery.
• Use pre‑ and post‑processing toolsets such as Hyperworks and NASTRAN to prepare and interpret models.
• Develop custom scripts or code to automate analysis workflows.
• Collaborate with analysis, program, chief engineering and airworthiness teams, building a professional network across the organisation.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree and will remain a student for the full placement.
• Strong team attitude and good communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to international stakeholders.
• Willingness to undergo a BPSS security check and, if required, UK SC‑level clearance.
