Workday Functional Consultant - Core HCM & Compensation

About the role

Norton Rose Fulbright, a global law firm, is hiring a Workday Functional Consultant for its People and Culture department (Human Resources, Talent & Resourcing, Diversity & Social Impact and Learning and Development). The consultant supports a strategic programme extending the existing Workday solution to a new region, providing hands-on functional configuration across Core HCM and Compensation, with recruitment experience desirable. The role works closely with the HRIS team and AMS capability on build activities, testing preparation and execution, defect resolution and deployment preparation. It is a 6-month contract, UK office-based with hybrid flexibility, reporting to the Head of P&C Transformation & Change.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands-on configuration and functional expertise across Workday Core HCM and Compensation, supporting the rollout of Workday to Australia.
• Support requirements gathering, solution design and configuration in Recruiting, where experience exists.
• Contribute to tenant build and migration, and to readiness for testing, playback sessions and deployment milestones.
• Take part in testing, including defect management, issue investigation and resolving configuration-related queries.

Required profile

• Typically 5+ years of experience configuring business processes, security, reports and similar within Workday.
• Strong functional expertise in Core HCM and Compensation.
• Ability to manage workload independently while working in a wider delivery team.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Desirable: recruitment experience, Workday certification or Pro accreditation, experience in a global or multi-region environment, and exposure to professional services or complex organisations.
