Yard & Warehouse Operative (FLT) – Forklift Driver

About the role

We are seeking a Yard & Warehouse Operative (FLT) to join a specialist chemical logistics operation in Portbury, near Bristol. The role involves handling hazardous and non‑hazardous chemicals, operating forklift equipment and supporting the flow of goods in the yard and warehouse.

Key responsibilities

• Safely handle, fill and store chemical products, both hazardous and non‑hazardous.
• Off‑load bulk tankers into storage tanks and IBCs.
• Operate automated filling stations to fill IBCs accurately.
• Pick, check and assemble customer orders for dispatch.
• Load and unload trailers using FLT equipment and manual handling techniques.
• Move, store and organise stock throughout the yard and warehouse.
• Perform counterbalance and reach truck duties safely and efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and adhere to health‑and‑safety procedures.

Required profile

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
• Valid Reach Truck Forklift Licence.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong health‑and‑safety awareness.
• Ability to work reliably in a shift pattern and wear specialist PPE.
• Good communication skills.
