About the role

A welcoming primary school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated Year 5 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with ADHD. The role starts in September and involves providing one‑to‑one assistance throughout the school day to help the child stay engaged, regulate emotions, and make steady progress.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to a Year 5 pupil with ADHD.
• Maintain the pupil’s focus on learning activities and redirect when necessary.
• Set clear boundaries, avoid power struggles, and manage challenging behaviour calmly.
• Help the pupil regulate emotions and develop coping strategies.
• Build a trusting relationship to encourage confidence and safety in the classroom.

Required profile

• Patient, calm and resilient with a professional attitude.
• Able to remain unfazed by inappropriate language and not take it personally.
• Strong relationship‑building skills and a positive role‑model mindset.
• Experience supporting children with ADHD or similar needs is preferred.

• Full‑time, day‑rate between £95 and £115.
