Year 7 Nurture Class Teacher – Specialist ASD School

About the role

Our client, a specialist ASD school in Southport, is looking for an enthusiastic Year 7 Nurture Class Teacher. You will lead a small, consistent group of 5‑7 pupils in a primary‑style nurture setting, helping them transition smoothly into secondary education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a broad Year 7 curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
• Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of abilities and ASD requirements.
• Create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Collaborate daily with two Teaching Assistants to ensure consistent support.
• Maintain strong, positive relationships with pupils throughout the school day.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Primary teaching experience or experience in a Year 7 nurture/transition provision.
• Proven ability to deliver a broad Year 7 curriculum.
• Experience adapting lessons for diverse learning abilities.
• Understanding of ASD and inclusive teaching practices, or a strong willingness to develop this knowledge.
