1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism & ADHD Support

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN class in a primary school in Blackburn. You will work closely with two pupils diagnosed with Autism and ADHD, supporting their learning, social development, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored one‑to‑one support for pupils with Autism and ADHD.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and de‑escalation techniques.
• Assist with academic tasks, social skills development, and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual education plans (IEPs).
• Promote inclusion and positive relationships within the classroom.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with Autism and ADHD.
• Strong understanding of SEN strategies and behaviour management.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
• Legal right to work in the UK and availability for a registration interview.
