About the role
We are seeking a compassionate 1:1 Support Assistant to work with a named pupil who has additional needs in a primary school in Brentwood. The role runs term‑time from September 2026 to July 2027 and offers the chance to make a direct impact on a child’s learning and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day, following the pupil’s EHCP.
- Implement SENDCO‑guided strategies to help the pupil access the curriculum and engage with peers.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and wellbeing and communicate updates to the class teacher and SENDCO.
- Build a consistent, trusted relationship with the pupil and their family.
Required profile
- 2:1 or First‑class degree from a UK university (top 30 ranking preferred).
- Previous experience supporting children with additional needs in a UK school or educational setting.
- Patient, warm, and dedicated with strong communication skills.
- Legal right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
