1:1 Teaching Assistant – Individual Pupil Support

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised academic and emotional support to a single pupil in a school setting in Runcorn. You will work closely with the child throughout the school day, helping them stay engaged, manage behaviour, and feel included in all classroom activities.

Key responsibilities

• Work one‑to‑one with the designated pupil, adapting tasks to suit their learning pace and abilities.
• Implement positive behaviour strategies and assist the pupil in managing frustration or anxiety.
• Support the pupil during transitions, lunchtimes, and social play to promote inclusion.
• Accompany the pupil to therapy or sensory‑room sessions as required.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, ADHD, autism, or speech delays.
• Ability to build quick, trusted rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Resilient, proactive, and patient approach to education support.
• Current Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one immediately.
