1st Line IT Support Officer (Temporary, Part‑time)

About the role

This temporary, part‑time position provides first‑line IT support for a well‑known human‑rights charity in central London. You will be one of the initial contacts for colleagues needing technical assistance, helping to resolve issues quickly and maintain a high level of service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑line support via phone, email and help‑desk system.
• Log, track and update support tickets accurately.
• Resolve routine hardware, software and user‑account problems.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT team members.
• Assist with laptop and desktop imaging, setup and configuration.
• Maintain IT asset registers and software licence records.
• Support management of loan equipment and IT stock.
• Assist with IT purchasing, supplier coordination and contract administration.
• Produce reports from help‑desk and telephone systems as required.
• Contribute to a reliable and efficient IT service for all users.

Required profile

• Recent, relevant experience in a similar IT role, preferably within a not‑for‑profit or charitable organisation.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft products and office hardware.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build stakeholder relationships.
• High level of organisation, attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Collaborative and proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team.
