2nd Line Engineer

About the role

The 2nd Line Engineer will provide advanced technical support for Leidos‑managed infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security and performance for a large user base. You will work remotely while collaborating with customers and internal teams to resolve incidents within agreed SLA/KPI targets.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver second‑line support for servers, virtual machines and network components, including deployment of new equipment.
• Maintain and update network certifications and security configurations.
• Perform periodic preventive maintenance (PPM) and document all changes.
• Manage patching cycles using WSUS and SCCM for Microsoft and security updates.
• Respond to security incidents and implement best‑practice controls.
• Collaborate with 3rd‑line and application teams to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Assist in the configuration, installation and deployment of infrastructure components such as virtual machines and UADs.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, change requests and testing phases.

Required profile

• High‑level security clearance (High – DV).
• Proven experience handling SD+ ticket resolution, meeting KPI/SLA targets.
• Ability to conduct periodic maintenance and produce accurate documentation.
• Strong communication skills, adaptability and customer‑service focus.
