5-Axis CNC Miller – Programmer, Setter & Operator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced 5‑Axis CNC Miller who can program, set up and operate complex machining centres. The role is based on the shop floor of a precision engineering business serving aerospace, motorsport and advanced technology sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate CNC 5‑axis mills to produce high‑precision components.
• Use Advanced Hypermill software to create and optimise machining strategies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, applying GD&T and strong mathematical skills to select appropriate machining processes.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to improve efficiency and product quality.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety standards.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records and keep the work area clean.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in setting up, programming and operating advanced 5‑axis CNC mills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of industry standards and machining regulations.

Required skills

• Advanced Hypermill programming.
• CNC 5‑axis milling operation.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
