Academic Career Development Fellow – Global Politics (Fixed‑Term)

About the role
The University of Cambridge invites applications for a three‑year, non‑renewable Academic Career Development Fellowship in global politics and international relations focusing on the Middle East and North Africa or South Asia. The post is based in the Department of Politics and International Studies (POLIS) and includes a concurrent fellowship at Girton College.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct high‑quality research and publish in the field of global politics/international relations.
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including lectures, seminars and supervisions.
- Supervise and direct student studies, with up to 80 hours of supervision per year at Girton College.
- Participate in departmental governance, examination and service duties.
- Engage with the academic community of Girton College as a Fellow.
Required profile
- PhD in a relevant discipline with a proven academic record in global politics or international relations of the MENA region or South Asia.
- Outstanding research achievements appropriate to the career stage.
- Clear vision for future research trajectory and its contribution to POLIS and Girton College.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
