Account Executive - Construction

About the role

We are seeking a relationship‑focused Commercial Account Executive to manage a high‑value construction‑focused portfolio for a leading independent UK insurance broker. The role combines client servicing with growth opportunities, allowing you to build long‑term partnerships without cold‑calling.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a predominantly construction‑led commercial insurance portfolio, including clients in manufacturing, waste & recycling and professional sectors.
• Maintain existing relationships, generate referrals and network to grow the portfolio (approx. 20% growth focus).
• Present client risks to insurers and negotiate terms for non‑standard and mid‑market risks (£20,000 GWP and above).
• Collaborate with an experienced Account Handler team for support and specialist expertise.
• Provide high‑quality service to clients, ensuring renewal and retention targets are met.

Required profile

• Approximately five years of commercial insurance experience, preferably as an Account Executive or a mix of Account Handler/Executive.
• Proven ability to manage commercial clients and present risks to insurers.
• Positive, proactive, results‑driven attitude with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Construction industry experience is advantageous, though candidates from professional indemnity or complex commercial backgrounds are also considered.
