Accountant – Agricultural & Charity Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing practice in Stockton-on-Tees. The role focuses on serving agricultural businesses and charitable organisations, offering specialist advice and managing a diverse client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of farms, agricultural businesses and charities.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts and statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP.
• Assist with corporation tax, income tax and VAT compliance.
• Provide sector‑specific advice such as succession planning for farms and charity regulations.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, handling queries and guidance.
• Support and mentor junior staff.
• Stay up‑to‑date with legislation affecting agricultural and charitable clients.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification (preferred).
• Proven accountancy practice experience, ideally with agricultural or charity clients.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax compliance.
• Excellent communication and client‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
